Please enter a brief comment that says who you are and what you are doing here. We have no other way to know who is using this wiki and why, especially for those who are not registered "authors". If you'd like to add anything about what you found useful or not useful, or what you would like to see on this wiki, please feel welcome to do so.
NOTE TO AUTHORS: If you log on to the wiki to add or edit pages, the wiki keeps a record of your changes, so it is not necessary to "sign" the visitor's book when you are doing that.
TO BECOME AN AUTHOR: All instructors and staff of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst are welcome to become authors on this wiki so that they can edit or add pages. (See link on front page). Many hands make light work.
Thanks.

I"d like to see a less wordy and more welcoming front page to this wiki. Not sure how to do that. Suggestions?

This sentence, "If you'd like to add anything about what you found useful or not useful, or what you would like to see on this wiki, please feel welcome to do so." could be dispensed with, or changed to, "Please comment!"

That's exactly the kind of simplification I think the home page needs. If you'd like to do the editing yourself, just follow the instructions in the email that you received to log into the wiki with "author" status.
